ENERGY EFFICIENCY INITIATIVES IN OUR SYSTEMS

Since 2021, Creta Maris Resort has introduced energy-related infrastructure, including a photovoltaic power system and electric vehicle charging stations.

KeyActions

Installation of energy recovery systems that capture and repurpose exhaust energy from indoor air conditioning and ventilation to heat or cool water.
Transition from incandescent and economy light bulbs to energy-efficient LED lightning. The resort uses 99% LED lighting systems, resulting in lower power consumption.
Implementation of a Building Energy Management System (BEMS) to monitor and optimize energy consumption.
Use of magnetic key cards in guest rooms, ensuring electrical appliances (excluding refrigerators) are automatically turned off when not in use.
Replacement and installation of equipment selected using documented energy-consumption specifications and, where applicable, the energy label for each product category.
Regular maintenance and cleaning of all energy systems according to their maintenance schedules.
Setting air conditioners (FCU) to a temperature that ensures comfort and optimal energy consumption.

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

At Creta Maris Resort, we use renewable energy sources (RES). Unlike conventional energy, RES has minimal environmental effects and offers long-term financial benefits. To this end, we have installed solar collectors for water heating, and a Photovoltaic power system for electricity production further enhancing our sustainability efforts. Furthermore, 100% of electricity purchased is from renewable energy sources | Guarantee of Origin (GO) certified.

DIRECT AND INDIRECT GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

Creta Maris Resort calculates and records both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions. Creta Maris calculates yearly its indirect Scope 3 emissions, covering 10 categories. The reporting boundaries and calculation methods are described in the Group’s Sustainability Report.
